National Association for Community Mediation
NAFCM's is the umbrella organization for conflict resolution across the country. Their mission is to support the maintenance and growth of community-based mediation programs and processes, to present a compelling voice in appropriate policy-making, legislative, professional, and other arenas, and to encourage the development and sharing of resources for these efforts. Catalyst is a member of NAFCM since its inception in 1996.
Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation
The Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation (ISCT) is a think tank that owes its beginnings to a group of leading scholars and practitioners who sought to influence individual and societal views of conflict. Conflict is primarily about being different and thinking differently, testing individuality and self-determination, risking the relationship and human connections we naturally value and need. It is about how we impact one another as we state our needs and differences. It is this relational view of conflict that has come to be known commonly as the transformative approach to conflict.
The Center for Social Gerontology
The Center for Social Gerontology, Inc. (TCSG), since its inception in 1972, has been a non-profit research, training and social policy organization dedicated to promoting the individual autonomy of older persons and advancing their well-being in society. TCSG has pursued this goal through a wide variety of projects, including serving since 1985 as an administration on Aging-funded National Support Center in Law & Aging. Catalyst works with TCSG on eldercare mediation.
Dayton Mediation Center
The Dayton Mediation Center is a supportive place where people that are having problems, conflicts, or disagreements can come to talk. A mediator will help. Catalyst works with the Dayton Mediation Center regularly.
A Small Group
A Small Group (ASG) is a community and civic engagement organization. "If you want to change the world - or the culture - all you have to do is change the conversation. In the beginning was the word--that was how the Bible started. Asking the question of what is true wealth invites people to have a conversation they may never have had before. That itself is a measure of wealth! The value of our coming together can be measured by whether or not we are able to have a conversation we have not had before. A conversation is an action."-- Peter Block
